We had 50 tickets for the Halloween Party and we all had a Great time! The atmosphere was fun and the dance floor was packed all night! I highly recommend The Cross for your event or party.
I visit frequently to watch a game and have a bite to eat and always bring new friends to try it out. The staff is friendly and you can always expect to have a good meal and fresh beer!
We are from Australia & came to this pub in 1981....many times. My husband would have the chips, whilst I would have the absolutely delicious french onion soup. We are re-visiting our friend in North Vancouver in September (2011), so are looking forward to dropping into the pub for "old times sake". Please brew those onions for the soup!!!
Definitely the best pub on the North Shore... it has been there forever but you can tell the serving staff love working there and the cooks are very good at what they do. Beer is very cold and at a good price, food is awesome for sure try the Yorkshire Pudding and the pulled pork sliders. Pizzas are good too.
They have great bands often on the weekends and watching sporting events there is also fun the crowd really gets into it.
I grew up on the North shore and remember it from back then but the Queens Cross kinda makes me wish I still lived on that side (kinda).

The boyfriend and I first came here shortly after moving to North Van as he had heard from a few people that it was one of the best pubs on our fair shore. We weren't disappointed.
It's definitely the type of place that has lots of regulars which always bodes well in my book. There are lots of seating options on 2 levels (plus patio) and they can accommodate groups (assuming you get there early enough to snag a few tables to shove together). It can get loud, especially on any sort of game night, but what popular pub doesn't? Service can also be a bit spotty sometimes but it's always friendly.
The menu (both beer and food) is extensive and chock-full of decent options. I've tried many of the food items and have to say that I was very pleasantly surprised by the steak salad (I don't know if that's the name... basically a green salad with perfectly cooked steak, goat cheese and nuts... mmm!). I can also safely say, if you like gravy (and I DO) they do a fine one. Anything involving garlic mashed potatoes and gravy is a sure bet.
